Your Story : Your Purpose

Discover What’s Strong.

Create What Matters.

Every community has strengths, stories and leadership waiting to be recognised.

Whether you’re working with residents, volunteers, young people, community leaders or people with lived experience, positive and lasting change begins when people are given the opportunity to contribute their strengths, share their perspectives and shape their next steps.

I work alongside communities, charities, social enterprises and public sector organisations to create spaces where people can connect, reflect, participate and lead positive change.

My approach combines strengths-based practice, participatory methods, creative facilitation and leadership development to help communities build on what is already strong.

A Strengths-Based Approach to Community Change

Communities are often viewed through the lens of problems, needs or deficits.

While challenges are real, communities also possess valuable assets:

  • Knowledge

  • Experience

  • Relationships

  • Creativity

  • Resilience

  • Leadership

  • Hope

My work helps communities identify and build upon these strengths, creating greater ownership, confidence and capacity for change.

How I Can Help

Community Engagement and Participation

Creating opportunities for people to contribute their ideas, experiences and aspirations.

This may include:

  • Community conversations

  • Participatory workshops

  • Stakeholder engagement

  • Co-design processes

  • Reflective and learning events

Strengths and Leadership Development

Supporting individuals and groups to recognise their strengths and develop confidence in their ability to contribute and lead.

Areas include:

  • Character strengths workshops

  • Community leadership development

  • Confidence and self-belief

  • Values and purpose

  • Collective leadership

Creative and Participatory Practice

Using creative approaches to amplify voices, encourage reflection and explore what’s important.

Drawing on my background in participatory photography and Inclusive Arts Practice, I design experiences that help people tell their stories, share their perspectives and contribute to change. Approaches may include:

  • Photo Voice methodologies

  • Visual storytelling

  • Creative facilitation

  • Participatory reflection

  • Community exhibitions and dialogue

Supporting Community-Led Change

Helping groups move from conversation to action by building confidence, ownership and shared purpose.

Together we explore:

  • What is already working?

  • What strengths exist within the community?

  • What matters most?

  • What becomes possible when people work together?

At the height of laughter, the universe is flung into a kaleidoscope of possibilities.
— Jean Houston

My Approach

I believe that lasting change is rarely imposed from the outside.

Change grows when people recognise what is already strong within themselves and their communities.

My role is not to provide solutions for communities.

I work to create the conditions where people can discover strengths, find their voice and shape change together.

This philosophy has guided my work across community development, homelessness services, participatory photography, leadership coaching and international projects.

“We’re like thought partners bouncing thoughts off each other when taking photos. It’s not about one person being a subject, using photos enables us to reach a common ground. You may have someone from a different culture to your own but you see their picture and you ask why, why did you take it? That’s where the connection starts.
